I really enjoy my 02, but coming from an ls1 you may be a little dissapointed. I would consider a Mach 1 - you could probably find one in the 17k - 18k range.

before i got my 03 gt coupe i test drove an 04 gt vert 5 speed and the top for one turned me off, it was a little noisey, but i expected that. what i didnt expect was how awful that 5 speed is. i just had a hell of a time finding gears with it. im sure its something to get used to. but ive hopped in cars for the first time before and drove the dog **** out of them. couldnt do it with that 5 speed stang.

i have an 02 gt. just had cams installed. it's fun but not cheap to catch up to the 3 and 4 valve croud. 2v's are starting behind but very fun to work on.

paid 16,500 for mine and it had 12K on it fully loaded w/ the mach 1000. I love it, fun to mod even though it isn't the fastest stang in the world, it is still a good time. When it was stock the vert noise didn't bother me if i even notice. It is 20x quieter than my jeep wranglers soft top. and once u put an exhuast on it, that wont even come into play anymore. I would of got a 01 cobra if the ball and chain would let me.

Bought mine for 11,900 with 24k on the clock......DEAL!!!!

Now on to the LS1 stuff.....Yeah the LS1 is FASTER than the GT but when you ask ANYONE which one they would rather have......MUSTANG usually tops the GM muscle. I came from the Fbod world and gotta say that the GT rides a WHOLE HELL OF A LOT BETTER than my Fbod. You even have room for a passenger that it is over 5 feet tall (GM had the ole hump in the well). Heck...It is easy for me to say speed is not everything being that I have an L but the GT is just a better ride and FUN AS HELL!!!!

2003 GT Coupe, paid $14k for mine with 41k miles...should've shopped for a little better price, but I still love it.

I love your Black convertable...I am looking at a dull grey ( nice deal tho) BTW I have a 99 Miata right now, to small , no power down low but can be fun in twistys, I miss the muscle sound and feel..
