Default Questions about 2002 GT -NEWBIE

HI everyone, My first time here I am going to go look at a 2002 mustang GT Convertable with stick . Only 33000 miles looks clean from the pictures, If I get one it will be my first mustang! is 14900 a good price??

Anyone have a 2002 on here? I would like to here about whats good and whats not so good about them, I do think they are overall good car, but since never had I want to ask you all about them. I did have a 1999 Camaro Z28 with Ls1 engine (black covertable). It was fast after some mods but with the gas and ins, at the time I sold it to pay of my truck.

Things are goin good for me now so I want a new fun toy comments PLEASE!!!

i have a 2002...99-04 are all generaly the same, minor differences, tranny, slight engine difference, they make the same power, the car should treat you good as long as you take good care of it, keep up on your fluids and other maintence, its no LS1 for sure, but i think you might find more fun with your mustang, just takes a little more $$ to get her going

I have an 02 GT. Bought mine w/ 35k on the clock and paid close to what you're paying. Thats a pretty fair price around where I live, and its pretty close to blue book value. I say you should check it out top to bottom/bumper to bumper and test drive it..if everything seems alright then jump on it, and have fun!

Yeah I am reading other threads on here, sounds similar to camaro site ...when I had the Z28 I added new shocks, springs, sway bars (much better handling)and highflow airbox, magnaflow exh. MFC mod,

now all that cost 2-3K

the stang I am going to see is completly stock gt with Mack stereo, Leather

So what would you add to stock GT for performance 2K limit?

Ah another question...How is it to shift?? My z28 clutch was a bear for 1st gear

If you like performance & bang for your buck, you'll most likely be disapointed with a GT.

If you insist on a Convertible & that price range, you'll be stuck with a GT.

However if you don't mind a coupe, you'll be much more satisfied with a Mach1. Just my .02

thats seems like a good price for a vert i payed 13700 for my hardtop 03 and it had 30k on it in 05 as far as a two grand budget for performancethis is waht i would do

o/r xpipe
catback
3.73 or 4.10 gear
short throw
tuner (diablo sport or sct)
lower control arms
stage one cam
any extra money: tb, u/d pullies, plenum, CAI

those should have your car in the mid 13's and fun to drive i absolutely love mine ive one raced it once since the cam and i ran a 13.5 with some and control arms i should be able to hit 13.3's ive taken z28's in mine they do feel slow stock but just add some exhaust and a gear and that wakes it up real nice and i think its a much more comfortable car to drive than a camaro i had one too those cars are too long and mine had all sorts of issues so does my cousins trans am if you ask me ford makes the better car hands down even if it doesnt have quite the power

oh about the clutch ive drove a few 99-04 gt's and overall the clutches have fairly stiff pedal effort mine has the stiffest of any i swapped to short throw a week or two after i bought the car so i dont reemmber what the stock shifter was liek but a steeda triax is sweet
