Can I use my stock cam gears and bolts when installing VT stage 1 cams?
Can I use my stock cam gears and bolts when installing stage 1 VT cams? Do I need anything for installing just the cams and no springs?

No, how can I tell with out pulling apart the motor? What would I have to do/buy diferently between the two setups?

If you have pressed on gears then you will have to buy gears and bolts. They are cheap and can get them from SHM.
If you have 13 bolts in your valve covers then you have pressed on gears. If you have 11 then you have bolt on gears and can reuse them.
