Caliper Paint REMOVAL

Hey guys, I picked up a parts of a Mach/Cobra brake upgrade a few days ago locally. The calipers are Mach 1, so they're black. Well I got bored and decided to paint them red with the Dupli Color kit from Autozone. I follwed all instructions (easy), and I think i put to many coats on lol. I put about 4 coats on, looks great and all, but I accidently dropped a screwdriver on one, and a piece of paiunt just came right off... I kept testing, and this paint just comes off at the lightest touch. I didn't want them to look ****ty after a month of road debris, so I started to try and remove all the paint lol.. WELL LONG STORY SHORT, would paint thinner be the easiest way to get it off? Any other suggestions.

Thanks

Sounds like the paint didn't dry all the way, get some paint remover/stripper. Once the paint is gone, clean up the surface with rubbing alcohol and put one coat on, let it dry all the way, then add some clear coat. That should do the trick.

I was gonna try to clear over all the dam coats already on it, but I don't think that would be a good idea lol. I was thinking maybe limiting to 1 or 2 coats, so I think I'll try that. Thanks. Also one more thing.. I heard once on here that some guy had to get new rotors after his caliper paint supposedely ruined his alreay new rotors.. something about the paint not allowing heat to escape. Any ideas on this?

Thanks alot,
Shawn
