you need good suspension, and the really good driver mod... I have seen people put down a 1.7-1.8 60" on street tires, so I know its possible, but it's VERY hard...
There is just no way in a stock weight car with street style (non drag radial) tires your gonna lay down a 1.8/1.7 60'. hell, with 420 WHP, 315 nittos, and a full suspension I only went 1.9s. i think 1.8s are there on a better track and better weather, but on street tires...

Simply not gonna happen on a stock suspension/street tire car at all though. If you 60' a 2.0 consider yourself lucky.

I have seen it with my own eyes... stock 03' Cobra, completly stock with a 1.8xx 60" I believe it was... same guy then pullied it with d/r's and puts down a 1.9 somehow, haha

However, the 1/4 mile track here in bradenton, is known for VERY GOOD prep also...

You would have to drive the f&% out of it to get there. Personally I don't think it will happen, but good luck bro!

He also has ALOT more power and about x8 the bottom end torque. With excellent track prep and the IRS, so long as you don't get wheelhop i can see 1.8s.. but not on a stock stick axle GT with 288 WHP.

What he probably did was just let the clutch out around 2K RPM, let the car basically bog down and then pin the throttle. thats what I did for a 1.9 the first time out at the track, and if I hiad the bottom end TQ of a cobra I am sure it would have pulled even faster.

Your just not gonna see 12s with 288 WHP and a stock suspension/street tire GT unless your unbeliveably good or lucky (or both).
