Well, I think i've bought a nitrous kit if the deal follows through.. Its the nos 4.6 dry kit that uses a fuel enrichment module.. Its suppose to be pretty safe..

Now i'm wondering about a tune...

Should I trust a mail order nitrous tune?

There is a dyno close to home called skytower dyno, but they don't use SCT. Is there anyone who has a stock 4.6 program that I can put in my XCal II to retard the timing on? or is there other ways I can do this?
nick @ american muscle says that If I adjust on top of his tune it will add or subtract from what is set.. so if the timing is advanced 10 points .. and I only retard it 2 points that means it is still 8 points more advanced than what I want.

I'd like to have just a factory tune, that way I can retard the timing from factory settings because I have no idea where the timing is at now on my tune. If anyone has one I'd sure appreciate it!??!!

or any tips on doing this a different way.. ?

You have an Xcal2? Do you have a 93octane or other street tune? Just retard timing 2 degrees from it and roll. Are you using stock fuel pump?

Mail order tunes are crap. Lots of people drool over some guy named Tim and his mail order tunes and their crap too. My buddy has a stock 2000 GT with a vortech and puts out 350 rwhp, I see tunes comming from this guy and they put out 330ish with mods. If you have a capable tuner, take it to him.

yes... an XCal II.. and yes I have a 93 octane tune... but if I retard the timing 2 degrees.. is that 2 degrees from factory settings or just 2 degrees off of what the 93 octane tune is set at?

Its 2 degrees off the 93 octane tune, which is what you want.

Did you get what I sent you? I run mine at -2,-4,-4 for a 100 shot just to be safe.

Ok, I think you are mis-understanding. I have a 93 octane street tune with advanced timing we will call X degrees of timing. I also have a nitrous tune that runs X-2 degrees. When I run the 150 shot I just use X-4. Its really simple. You dont have to worry about how much timing is advanced from stock. It doesnt matter.

Its enough dont worry.
