Default pi swap vs pi motor

From what I have read a pi swap costs at least a grand for parts. I have seen pi motors go for less that this. Would it not just be cheaper and easier to swap in a pi motor. I feel confident i could swap a motor, as i have pulled the motor on tranny on other vehicles, but would not be to sure about actually tearing into the engine. What are your guys opinions about this?

I hear you will actually see more power off of a pi swap then a pi motor....

yeah me too so i was just wondering why you would do a pi swap when you could just swap the entire engine. With the entire engine you would also be safer for boost with the lower compression. I just think that it would be easier to sawp the entire engine. This is of course if everything bolts up, such as the tranny and wiring harness??

the added power of the pi swap over the pi engine is minimal from what i understand?

Your talking about 10hp extra for all that work! Hardly worth it. If you wanted to go boost then there's no need for a swap! Your better off foing a 4v swap than a pi swap. I would say do the whole motor! Anything newer than 01 has the 8 bolt flywheel and crank set-up which is better for more boost.

All 4.6L's are interchangeable. The wire harness needs to be changed unless you keep your front timing cover with the Coil Packs?
