they perform the same, cost about the same, only difference is sound. depending on the muffler go with the corresponding midpipe. if your doin headers then get the headers and midpipe at the same time unless your doing shorties. chambered mufflers (flowmaster, magnaflows)get the H, and straight thrus (slp, borla, magnapacks)get the X....ive had both and like the H better

x is more exotic nascar type sound
h is more deep classic muscle car sound

both will sound good and deep, depends which catback your pairing it with.

i will be ordering a slp x to go with my slp catback today.

Magnaflows are not chambered, but I still think they sound great with an H pipe. I agree though that Flowmaster with an X doesn't sound that good, at least from clips and what others have said.

Personally I'd rather have my car sound like a muscular car (since that's what it is) rather than a raspy nascar sound. I will be bold and try an H pipe with Magnaflows and let you know how it sounds. If it sounds like complete *** like some seem to think it will, I will sell my Magnaflows and get Spintech or MRT catback.

Nope same basic design except Magnpacks have smaller mufflers with fiberglass packings which give it that louder sound.
