Youd be stepping down in power. Your LT1 would blow the doors off any stock 96-98 4.6 2valve and most modded ones also. If you are buying a stang thats a GT, go with a 99+ or a 5.0.

Just upgrade your camaro to a 98+.

sn95 is the chassis code for a 94-98 mustang (96-98 have 4.6 engine) and those engines are complete dogs, it will be slower than your car now, if you have 9k to spend, then go get a 99 or 00 camaro ls1

sn95 is the chassis code for '96-'04 Mustangs.

I gotcha now on the exaust... my KBB values were for a coupe not a vert... didnt know it was a vert with leather! If you really like the car go for it! Personally I like the 99-04 Body style better... and you will be able to put on a ton of bolt ons to make the car faster.. just not alot faster! They do not respond as well to bolt ons as the LT1/LS1. It all comes down to personall preference! I had a 97 Camaro black 6spd vert... I loved it... but I love the Stang more! If you like the car buy it! Then if you want more power Supercharge it!

I paid $9300 for my 99 GT with 38k. The owner drove it on weekends and kept it in a garage. Just shop around and you can find a clean 99+ for the same price or maybe even less than that 98.

avoid the 98...if you shop around, you can get a 99 or 00 for the same money with about 10-20k more miles...and you'll be alot happier with the HP #'s. plus, they look meaner.
