Coolant Crossover Cracked!
2000 Mustang GT 4.6L SOHC. the part that the thermostat sits in is cracked i've looked around and searched this site and others, but no one mentions if the coolant crossover can be replaced by itself or if i have to replace the whole intake manifold. i've seen ones with an aluminum crossover (which all should be) but mine is made of plastic. does anyone know if i can replace just the crossover or do i have to replace the whole manifold? thanks.

RE: Coolant Crossover Cracked!
i dont recommend buying it off anywhere but ebay.
you can find a very good used one for under $100.
unless you want a brand new one. then go to american muscle or something like that.
but yes, you have to replace the whole manifold. Thank Ford for that one.

RE: Coolant Crossover Cracked!
yea i found the ebay intakes, they seem to be decent pieces with the aluminum crossover's. but are they a performance piece or is thier a performance manifold that i can get and where? im not familiar with mustangs so im having a hard time finding this stuff out, and if im going to be changing a manifold i might as well get a better performing one, even if it costs a little more that the $200 ebay ones. and one more thing i dont understand the difference between the the "PI" performanc improvement heads, is that what came on the 2000 GT's? im unsure of which manifold to get PI or NON-PI, thanks for you guys help.

RE: Coolant Crossover Cracked!
You need a PI manifold. I got sick of that freakin thing being broken and didn't want it to come back EVER so I bought a full aluminum intake. Yeah it cost $700 but I can not worry about that anymore plus i got a little gain in performance. Dyno numbers coming by Saturday.
