Default anyone ever twin turbo??

I am getting a new 05 GT with the 4.6 in march...or when ever it comes in and I am thinking I want a twin turbo instead of the supercharger. Anyone have numbers compareing the 2?? Has anyone DONE a twin turbo 4.6 before?? I havent really found alot of info on it but I know it can be done. It might be all custom , I know its going to be a tight fit but it can work. Anyone seen this setup before??

ive been in a Supra TT and let me tell you that you DONT want to do b/c you what domes directly after you twin turbo... DEATH or serious injury. i WISH I COULD TWIN TURBO..... our engines are soo big that to even put a single turbo in it would cost about twice as much as any s/c

TT = alot of work. HP makes a kit for the 2v's, not sure about the 3v's yet though. Bigtime work, gotta go tubular k-member, the whole 9 yards. Kit is 7k + 2k install

A supercharger will turn your car into a 4 wheeled casket anyways.

hahaha thanks for the vote of confidence! I want to do it for the challange AND the performance. I didnt know there was a kti out, if I do this setup I will make my own kit. We will see, I might change my mind when I get my car and see that there might not be enough room, but I am hoping I can make something work

Yes HP does make a TT for the 05 3v motor. It is by phone call only as yet, however it is available and has been done. I will (hopefully) be going TT in the spring and would love for people to call it a death trap due to the horsepower #'s!!! However TT's require a **** ton of work, especially high horsepower ones. I need a complete new driveline and forged internals. They are the wy to go though TT>supercharger every day of the week.

I've done a twin setup on a v6 never on a v8. Have done a single on an 8 though. Yellowstang98 & md are right about the work. Definitly not a fun thing to do, the workload does pay off in the end. If you do buy a tt kit from someone make sure it is a COMPLETE kit. Ask what all has to be done to the car other than installing the kit before it will start up & drive. Don't just stick with one company, try to find & call a few companys & see what they are working with. If you do decide to do this yourself make sure you know EVERYTHING that has to be done to make it a good system you dont want to end up with anything broken. Mockup everything before you do it to make sure you have room & take your time making parts. It took me 6 days to make two turbo manifolds. Good luck with whatever you do.
