how accurate are the g-tech type meters?
i have the beltronics vector fx2 that i bought at circuit city. i finally hooked it up and went out on the highway today. the horsepower it stated was alot lower the what i dynoed at but my times were good. 13.4 in the 1/4 and around 8.6 in the 1/8. just wanna know how accurate these things are.

They are accurate for 1/4 mile times. You need a really flat & straight road to get a good reading though. For HP they are not even close..
You should be running far lower than 13.4, so I'm guessing you spun bad eh?

oh yeah i spun real bad. i was on the freeway, I-24, i would just pull off to the side, reset my meter and punch it when traffic was clear so i could get her up to bout 150. i have to mush power for them nittos. they are good tires, guess i gotta heat'em up every time.

I heard they were accurate if setup with the right weight numbers for the car, set it up right in the car, and run and on a flat surface thats its pretty accurate. I wouldn't claim a nice run on a G-tech as gospel though, the track is the best way.

They are accurate for the 1/4 times but as far as hp numbers. You have to go up to around 120 and take wind direction and speed in account for drag. Supposdly they always show a little lower. I think there is a specific percantge you can add. What it is I dont know.(disclamier i read about these along time ago)
