Y ou could screw around with spending 3K on a set of heads/cams/springs and doing all the engine work etc, or you could just buy a blower kit and be done with it.
Just FYI though, I would outrun my buddies stock LS1 from a roll and a dig every time with boltons/cams/gears/drs. It was close if I didn't hit every shift perfectly, but I didn't need 300+ WHP to get it done, just 280.

Lol yeah i still wanna go with a set a cams and finish it off with headers and then get A vortech mongoose kit from MPH and then i will be able to run againist him. And i shouldnt have to worry about him doing mods cause shops in az to work on fbodies are ridiculiously expensive, 1,800 for exhaust lol

Well i wanna do BBK Longtubes and cams still dont knw wat stage cams i wanna do? wat would u suggest and how much the cam install run u ?
Personally I would put off the cams for now. Get the headers and vortec. You can make some good numbers without cams if you go f/i. Then you could save for a forged bottom end with some stage 2 or 3 cams and be able to safely rev the motor and take full advantage of the cams.

me personaly would love to fo FI in my Stang.... but would it be straight bolt on, or would i have to go with a special headgasket, head studs... fuel needs.... ect ect. and what would a bone stock 4.6 handle? with possably the little extras needed for the S/C

It was a 3rd gear roll, and ik that those cars are much better on rolls instead of a dig. the other advantage is this is his first 5spd and ive been driving a 5spd for 5yrs.

Full bolt on's and cams will get you in the area of a stock LS1.All that will put you about 280 rwhp and should be good for mid to low 13's in the quarter with some other suspension mods. It will be very hard to get your car over the 300 rwhp mark without spending a LOT of money. There are a few people on here that have hit the 340 rwhp mark, but have spent a small fortune to get it. You have a slight weight advantage over the f-body so you should be able to keep up with a little less HP.
How fast did you raceto on the dig? My bolt on GT would hang with my transam through the top of 2nd, about 55 mph. Third I wouldstart topull on it pretty bad. Third gear is the sweet one in the f-bodies.
