Cobra FTL!!!!!!!!!!!

It has factory stock IRS.

I passed on a 99 cobra for just that reason.

Get a mach one. It has the 4v and a solid rear. I refuse to own an IRS mustang just becuase it sucks. I have a buddy with an 01 with 3.73's, exhaust, X, pulleys, CAI, and tune and he hops like its nobody's business going down the track. I used to kill his times just becuase he had wheel hop so bad. From a roll he ate me but from a light i got him.
Not everybody drives 1320 feet at a time, bro. And a good, patientCobra driver can make wheelhop a non issue.

The IRS was a godsend to me. Now I can hit a bump in middle of a turn, while accelerating, and not have to wonder where the *** of the car is gonna go or if I'm gonna hit a wall or go off a cliff.

If you don't intend on turning much, then by all means, SRA.....
As a matter of fact i will hand you the keys to my car if your Cobra can make it around an SCCA road coarse faster and pull more G's in the corners than i can. . . . .

Dude hands down the Cobra, it's an SVT and it's not heavy and ugly like the new GTs. I test drove one, 4v feels nice.

It sounds like your buddy needs to learn to drive. IRS isn't an issue if you are a patient driver. You can't just slam your foot to the floor. I have IRS and I don't hop at all. You nkow most wheel hop is from hard tires. Either drop your psi or get cheater slicks. I love building my car and learning to drive it well, so I can say I just smoked you and I have IRS.
10% car + 90% driver = race wins!!!!!!

Damn, bro! Three posts! Ruffle a few feathers?

Bottom line? I've had both, GT and Cobra. I'm also am aware of the characteristics and nuances of each.In the real world, I don't know if I could go back to a SRA. And I don't care how well sorted that SRA is or how many G's it can pull, all it takes is something the size of a Snickers bar to raise your insurance rates and really ruin your day.
