I have a question about my car cutting out. I have a 97 Cobra with a Vortech V-1 supercharger,and once the cars boost starts to kick in into the higher rpm range (6000rpm) the car just starts cutting out real bad and falls on its face like it hit a rev limiter. I'm pretty sure its not the rev limiter becausewhen the car is parked I cangive it gasand the car will rev to 7200rpms.The car justcuts out whenitspullina load. I needsome advice from anyonethat knows what could cause this. Thanks

Im having the same problem around 5500 rpm. Its in your tune. Im not getting enough spark or fuel it seems. I need to fix it as well

I heard I would need to upgrade my ignition to a msd dis-4 and it might take care of the problem. But the ignitioncost $550, I'd rather know what the problem is then start buying parts and guessing.

Sounds like a fuel delivery issue to me...

I would get a dyno tune and check your tune... could be fuel or ignition.... or both.

Def. your tune. Mine did the same thing until I got a custom tune... I definately wouldn't let the engine go above 2800rpms reving or driving until you get a tune!

What are your plugs gapped at? It COULD be spark blowout, but you should not need to upgrade the ingnition system, its a pretty good one in our cars.

It sounds like not enough fuel, I would get a wideband on board. Then if you air/fuel ratio is screwed you can tell just by watching the gauge. As of right now i would go get it tuned, because if you run lean for too long say "good bye to your short block".

Change the fuel filter and plug wires.

What about checking for a possible boost leak?? Much more simple than buying a new ignition...
