Default Which Muffler size do I choose?

My muffler measures 2.12 around and 17 1/2 long.

I own a 2000 Mustang GT and I'm going to be putting on Flowmaster super 40 mufflers on it.

Now all the mufflers have like 2.25 2.50 and 3.00 ... I have no idea which would fit my car.

Need some help from the experts here. Thanks.

If your gonna weld them into your stock pipe then get the 2.25`s You can also get the 2.5`s but will need a reducer.

Yeah, they're being welded on to stock.

So only 2.25 is what I need?

2.50 wouldn't work?

You can get either one. Why not go with a full catback?

Delta 40`s still drone. I had them welded into my stock catback when I first got my car. And they aren`t very loud. A little bit deeper though.

Well from what I've been told a catback system is a waste of money and no different then just getting muffs put in.

Super 40's are the loudest mufflers, so that's what I'm going with.

Whats the difference between going to 2.25 and 2.50? I'm a newb and don't know...

ALright awesome, so either will fit to my car. Better to go with 2.25 though as it will fit easier right?

Thanks for the help/
