thanks for the input, Which would be better for a beginner driver. never driven a car with a sort throw shift i know it can make the shifter firmer but anything to worrie about before getting into it?

Personally i love my Tri-Ax. I have had a pro 5.0 and this Tri-Ax. I have driven the MGW and i don't really like how it is almost too short of a shift. I like to feel like i am actually going into a gear. I also like how smooth the Tri-Ax is. I would go for the cheaper Tri-Ax if i was you. There really isn't that big of a difference in the shifters, unless you are some hardcore racer and even then if you were that hardcore you wouldn't be having a 5 speed anyways

And yes there is a big difference in shifters when it comes to MGW and everything else. They are all a shorter throw but the mgw is tight, all the others will feel sloppy compared to it. JMO.

Before I bought my car I test drove a car that had a short throw shifter in it. It shifted nice and fast between gears...but does anyone feel like you're always reaching ahead for the shifter? For the amount I would race a car, I would rather the stock shifter I think.

And yeah to the guy a few posts above, how is the throw TOO short? It's just right if you ask me, and it's a SHORT throw shifter., so of course compared to stock it will be alot less travel every time you shift a gear.
