Default question about throttle body and plenums

I see all these different tb and plenum combos, like the BBK, Accufab and the Pro Products. But is there really a difference between the three. I personally like the look of the professional products, but it seems to be the cheapest one and usually you get what you pay for. But 75mm is 75mm right?? So what is the big difference?? Does one combo give you more hp than the other combo??

They'll all give you the same 2 peak hp increase.

Thank you that is what i wanted to know. So why is the Accufab so expensive then. I could get the pp tb and plenum and some gears for the price of the accufab.

The Accufab has the benefit of somewhat higher flow numbers, and is the most talked about brand--so they get to charge more. The higher flow delivered by their tb and plenum is largely irrelevant on an otherwise stock engine, you'd probably need some fairly wild aftermarket cams and a P51 manifold before it would matter.I have the PP plenum and their 70 mm TB, which according to Accufab's tests (about 1/2 way down the page, PP is the same as the TrickFlow) flowsthe same as the 75, and am very pleased with the performance and quality--about $200 with shipping from eBay.The smaller TB also means higher velocity air flow at WOT, though the difference between 70 and 75 probably doesn't matter...

Accufab is billet aluminum, not cast. If you buy a cast plenum, just take the dremel to it and clean up the flashing and polish it a bit. That should make it equal to the AccFab.

Cliff, did you have your's powder coated or paint it?

It's powdercoat, not the color I would have selected but the local plating shop was doing a bike frame and fenders when I walked in and he said "if this color's OK I'll do it right now for free". 45 minutes and $20 later (I forced him to take it) I was out the door with a literally HOT plenum in hand...It's discoloring a bit at the EGR end, but not bad and I've got over 6k on it...FYI-re: the Accufab plenum; I've held one in my hand, it is a very nicely machined and polished casting--machining that from billet would cost $1200 with an astounding amount of waste material...

Yes the Accufab flows more. If you read mustang and fast fords magazine they did a article on all of them. They said you shouldnt need one until your making like 600 hp. But hey thats my insight on the issue.
