don't mind the vert, but saving it more for my later years...the show isnt really my style.

Personally if your more interested in racing, then i would get a coupe, less restrictions on the track. If you like to show off then a covertible may be more your style. Girls will go topless for us mustang guys either way, some guys prefer to have their car do it as well...personal preference[:-].

As for .1-.2 being negligable, thats a car length or two which can easily decide winner/loser in a race

Ill always take a coupe over a vert, nothing against vertsa, they fun as hell, but i feel like the soft top ruins the lines of the car when its up.

I have a vert and love it. Performance you will not notice a difference, and long tubes etc. will install the same. If you are looking for a track car go with a hard top for obvious safety reasons, if you want a fun summer car you cant beat the vert imo. To the dork who said verts are for chicks ...[sm=chairshot.gif]

The driver skill can make up for that, as well. Along with several other factors that can make the difference.

Where do you get .1= 1 car length? Isn't the rule of thumb 4 cars = 1 second? Maybe its one car equals .15 second?

its also dependent on the time frame your looking at...two 17 sec cars a .1 off will be extremely close compared to two 6 second cars .1 off....very similar to removing 100 lbs being a .1 of a second.. as your reduce weight the power/weight ratio changes, and down near anemic weights you could lose as much as .2 seconds.

That's true, but for the average buyer who compares a coupe and a vert as far as performance goes, they will not feel any difference. There will probably be a small difference, but I don't think anyone who buys a vert plans on running 7s any time soon.

My friend owns a vert and its nice and all, but you deff get black stuff all over you hands from puttin your hand on itwhen your cruisin' and have yourelbow on the bottom of the window. It gets cold as **** in the winter, you get ****ty gas milage on the highway cause of the drag with the top down. So unless you want to put it up and down all the time i would say go with thecoupe. As far as the verts are for girls i dont see many guys in delaware with verts but then again i know of 2 guys with verts in delaware one is a 2004 red cobra and the other is a V6 not to mention there are not alot of people in delaware. but its going to be your car for a long time so make the right choice.

Cold in the winter? With any car, you will freeze your *** off. As far as ****ty gas mileage goes, you just raise the roof if you are going to hop on the freeway (if you care about mpg). What's so hard about 'putting it up and down all the time'? Only takes a mere 10 seconds to drop, and maybe 15 to raise. How do you get black stuff on your hands from touching the top? Maybe the top was dirty as hell or something, but its nothing I've ever had happen to me.
