Default For those of you building a new shortblock or motor.

As some of you know I just built a new motor. I put a magnetic oil pan plug in because I knew that the rings were gonna wear off some of the cylinder walls and send metal shaving into the oil. Well I hit 50 miles today and did my first oil change. The magnetic plug looked like a chia pet. I am so glad that I put that thing in there to catch all of it.

I highly suggest you guys install one. Its cheap insurance for your new big investment. You can find them on ebay.

You think it would be worth using that plug on a stock motor at all??

Id even consider one of those magnetic oil filters for the break in period.

Been using these on my sprint car and race kart motors for years. They are definately a useful tool. Never thought about one for the car.
