my cobra wont start, not an easy fix
ok im a pretty smart guy but i cannot get my dad gum car to start. I just had the motor rebuilt and i put it in and plugged everything in like always. When i tried to crank it, it just wont start. every once in a while it will back fire..
ts not out of time, it has fire, it has fuel to the rail, crank and cam sensors are fine, seriously doubt its out of time, wires are right, but it wont start. please give me some ideas. The only thing i can think of is the fuel pump is not pumping when the car is on. please help thanks[/align]

....well if you have fuel at the rail...and by presing the shrader valve and fuel squirts out..your pump is working and supporting the pressure its suppose to...you could have the wires wrong...double check that...also does it sound like a freeewheelin motor like maybe the timing belt slipped off or something...bc if you have fuel and ignition...it should start....check timing....and or timing belt....if you have fuel and ignition...............also even if the timing belt was put on wrong..and the cams and crank werent lined up correctly it will no fire either...

When i turn the ignition over a few times and then hit the sharder valve, fuel will squirt out but if i wait about 10 sec's then it wont squirt out. Not sure if this is normal or not. Seems like the line is losing pressure but maybe thats normal. What else could it be. I heard if the car is not grounded well it will do crazy stuff but i checked that once already too.

My buddys car wouldnt start a few weeks back. He had spark and fuel to the rails. I listened to the injectors with a stethascope and his injectors werent firing. His computer fried some how. This was a 5.0L so he said screw it and bought one of my 351w's. Listen to the injectors while trying to start it.

well you need fuel, compression, air and a spark to get the engine running. make sure your plugs are firing (i assume you know how cause youre a smart guy), check the injectors, make sure your tb cables are correct and if the engine is turning over but wont start, try a compression test. but first and foremost, if there is a way to check your ignition control module i would, cause you dont want to spend a bunch of time to find out it was a fuse.
