Default well i got my cobra

well i finally got my cobra. a 2003 svt, 27,500 and it's got 23.5k miles and it's silver. it's getting detailed right now tho. a few quetions on it tho, when i lifted up the hood it had a steeda air filter on the left side, i think it was the cold air intake, anyways thats not stick is it? and another thing, the wheels aren't chrome like i wanted, so can i dip them chrome like someone suggested or do/should i buy new chrome ones and if so wheres a good place? i'll put some pics up as soon as i get it.

Awsome dude. I bet you love it huh? The Steeda pipe isnt stock. Why do you wanna dip them? I think the non chrome makes it look meaner.

yea it was love at first site lol, i just think the chrome rims would look nice with the chrome exhaust tips and chrome cobra symbol and with the windows tinted. what i liked is that it had the cobra symbol on the front of the in the grill, i've only seen a few that have that. but if i wanted to have chrome rims would i dip them or just buy new ones? oh one thing i was pissed about is the front seats had a couple of black stains on them, that **** better come out in the detail they're doing.

It depends what your rims are made out of if they are brushed alunminum w/ texture then I dont think u can. If they are just alloy wheels then u probably could but it may cost a pretty penny to do that. u might as well buy new ones and sell your stock rims on ebay. Ive seen stock cobra 17" chrome rims on ebay new for about $600 check that out. when u get a chance post some pics. im jellous i wish couldve afforded a cobra. I would have bought one if i wasnt so poor lol

^^haha, I know the name of that tune...I wish I could afford your sweet looking '99 GT, let alone an '03 Cobra. But hey, it all comes with hard work and time.

Those '03 Cobra's rock man, good buy. As far as the rims, I think you're right in saying the chrome would look great. I mean, the silver 5 spokes look really nice, but yea, I think on your car the chrome would look pretty awesome like you said. I guess you'd be better off just getting a new set of chrome rims, there is always gonna' be a buyer out there for your silver rims, whether it be here on the forums or ebay...Good luck with the new ride man!

You can send any aluminum wheel off to be chromed, steel for that matter too.

But, it'll cost over $125 a wheel including preperation. If you watch E-bay you can find a set of triple chrome plated Cobra wheels for less that what it'll cost you to send yours off to be dipped and chip to death anyways....

yea i'll just buy some chrome ones probably and sell my stock ones, lol i was filling out all the paper work i questioned myself if i shoulda bought a new GT cuz insurance/payments woulda been a lot cheaper, but it is a really nice car so it's worth it for me and i'm happy. and also, how do you guys feel about extended warrantys? i bought a 4 year, 50k miles on top of the 23 it has on it now for 1599.00, and i bought the car alarm for another 500 cuz it seemed like a really good car alarm. were those 2 totatl newb moves? i can still cancel em, but i feel pretty strong about the extended warranty.
