Default Diablo Pred or SCT Xcat-2 for basically stock GT?

I think a custom tuner may sound like a good idea, what about you guys? Basically I figured it would be nice to turn off the rear o2 sensors when I get my O/R midpipe, but also there are alot of other neat things you can change, i.e. timing, speedo for gears or tires, etc. My question is, would it be worth it on a basically stock GT? Other than the catback and midpipe, I don't plan on doing much else. (yeah I say that now lol). Also I would like to keep using 87 octane, with these horrible gas prices. With the 87 octane tune is the difference even worth the money? Or should I just get mil elims and forget about the tuner for now, since I don't have many mods, and don't plan on doing much else for the car (for now at least lol).

TIA

If you are going to stick with 87 oct. gas, you won't really feel any difference. I have a 93 tune, and I could feel more pull in the upper rpm range. For someone in your situation, I wouldn't get a tuner. Don't forget you can check error/check engine codes with those.

id go ahead and get the tuner if you plan on changing your tire size or putting gears in. lets say you get a tune for 91 or 93 octane you MIGHT gain 10hp if youre lucky

Bigger tires/wheels? Nah, I love my chrome stock wheels and the most I'll do is increase the size from 245s to 255 as far as the tires go (not a huge diff. to require a tuner). As far as gears I plan on keeping my 3.27s., they suit my needs fine.

I guess I won't get the tuner, especially with a 87 octane tune, and altho a 91 tune would be good for a few HP, one of the perks of buying my Mustang was the fact it didn't require premium fuel like my old car.

Thanks for the advices!

With just exhaust, it wouldn't be worth it. But I still say get it because If you're going to keep modding, you're going to need it anyway.

And I vote SCT because I have one. Not to knock Diablo Sport, but I can't vote for something I really don't know much about.

Yep they are 17"x8". Widest tire you can fit is 275, but I intend on going 255 all around for my next set of tires (BFG KW II's).

I heard the Diablo is more user friendly. If you are going to do more mods to your car I would go ahead and get it.
