How much extra weight are them newer Stangs pushing around? I know they are 3V's but isnt weight a cars worst enemy when going through the gears?

depends on where the weight is... it will take some significant weight to offset 40 horsepower... the new charger R/T's are pushing 4,000 lbs and 320+ hp but a new edge will light them up

The average s197 will go 13.6's or so. Some a bit better, some alot worse.

A new edge will go the same with 4.10's, DR's, and a hell of a launch.

Don't roll race though ;-)

Drive your pants off, I've met some pretty quick New Edges and sometimes it's a driver's race if one person can out-drive the other. Although from a roll stock vs stock it's a S197 walk, so take out your spare tire, get some DRs and if possible some gears(at least 3.73s, but 4.10s are, of course, better) and since a New Edge weighs about 200lb lighter(3400lb vs 3600lb) you should have a sure chance with these mods IMO......but why are we all racing each other? Shouldn't we take out our frustrations on the Bow-Tie boys and Ricer crowd? Btw, good luck if your friend's talking smack, never liked "perceived" bullies.

like said dont role race those things auto or stick pull real hard to 5900 rpms. but those things are something else, a buddy of mine has one and bone stock auto wit street tires spinnin a little hit 13.8. so ur in for a treat. ur gonna need some 410's one hell of a good driver and a great launch, some dr's would be essential. and u should do it just about.

the new 05 GTs are beating you with 40 more bhp, but was told by my mechanics that they put one on a dyno and it only put out 262rwhp and does weigh a couple of extra hundred pounds more than 99-04. the idea of your gt beating a newer one is not impossible with a couple of bolt ons.

Mine pulls till about 6500rpmbetter stock cams FTW!!! Around here stock s197's are rare, I ran across a S/C'd shelby GT yesterday (not gt500)
I ran a 12.99 in my last trip to the track with my lil ol setup..
