dude dont be that discouraged, i have found out that those rsx type s's are real quick and respond well to mods, wit just a header and a cold air they are just about as fast as a 96-98 cobra. yea i kno so dont feel bad.

+1 on feeling sorry for 2 valves. Not a day goes by that I dont wish that I save up a little more money and got a cobra or mach.
Don't feel sorry that you got a 2 valve, S/C that sucker, do the intake and exhaust and a couple other boltons, and you'll have a low 12 second car.
That's what I did, and I'm very happy.

I've beeten one 2/3 races. He had an intake, and i have a catback and intake...not that it makes a difference. Its a driver race. Maybe the stang was auto?

yeah my 98 gt was pretty slow with just an exhaust, but i did race a RSX once from a dead stop and we were pretty dead even until we had to slow for next set of lights.
i have spent probably around 4000 on parts and am at 270rwhp w/ 300lbs of torque, if i had been a little smarter i would have gotten 99+ gt and would be at 300+.

The 96-98 GTs are only 215 or 225 HP ('98), the 260 HP that the '99 to '04s have is better--but it's still not a whole lot for a 3250 lb car. Don't get me wrong, I like my '03 GT and with the intake, exhaust, '93 octane tuning, and 3.73 gears it's a pretty fast car when driven well--in fact it's almost as fast as my 10 psi supercharged 1.6L '92 Miata. An other issue is that, and as Bob Hall generally considered to be the father of the Miata said:
"If you can't drive fast with 90 HP, 900 won't help."

ut you have a pi swap, technicaly, you would have a very slight amount more hp then a 99+ because of the compression bump

I knew a guy with an RSX with intake and exhaust that would probably be a drivers race against an edge stang...That is untill he pulled water through his CAI and ruined his motor.

SN95's may be slow, but put 500 into by doing a PI swap, and its keeping up. Not too bad at all if that is the route one wants to go.

The sn95 GTs are EXTREMELY slow... I consider a 15 second car pretty damn slow.
I never ran 15's even when my car was stock. I hit high 14's but never 15's
