if its an auto, id check the tranny and differential fluid... expecially if you live in the desert like i do. if not, 20,000 isnt a whole lot,you should have extended life coolant, and i assume uve been changing ur oil... id inspect the PCV valve, air filter and tranny fluid

as for spark plugs.. if youre stock motorcraft platinum or double platinum will work. id stick with the platinum not really going to see anything more out of a double platinum plug, if you want the best NGK iridium is what i used to run

Just pick up some OEM plugs until you are modded quite a bit. Like he said, check your air and fuel filters, and change your PCV valve. Theres not a whole lot you'll need to do with so low miles.

As a matter of fact, check the owners manual for what they recommend at your mileage.

Here's a link to the factory recommended maintenance schedule from the 2003 shjop manual. It recommends changing the plug at 90k miles for normal service, and 60k for rough service. There's no need to change them at 23k unless you just want to do it--I have 43.5k on mine with the OEM plugs and it runs great.Weak sparkproblems (including worn plugs) will first shown up as difficult cold starting, and stumbling on moderate to hard acceleration--that's when the voltage requiredto ionize the gap is highest.Note that these mileage specs are assuming you have the OEMplatinum plugs or equivalent, if you're running plain ol' conventional plugs as many like to do then 20k-25k miles is about as much as you're going to get...

If your plugs are 5yrs old you prolly should change them IMO. I guarentee it'll be like buying a new car for a day or two.
