Isn't stainless going to brown with the heat though? I know my BBQ grill did at alot less than exhaust manifold temps?

Isn't stainless a good conductor? I would think you would be better off with ceramic coated, at least that would keep the radiated heat down to a minium?

I thought the slainless would turn blue. IF your gonna spend the money on a new set of headers, Get some ceramic coated ones.

Yea SS will definitely "brown" over the years, but you don't have to coat them. I am getting some SS headers put on the Vette very soon and I talked to a bunch of people and they said they won't deteriorate without coating and plus you can't really see them in the bay either.... most people don't coat SS. But yes they will brown out over time.
