Default Air Silencer

Hey guys so I'm new to the performance cars. What is a Air silencer removed??

its a peice inside the fender well that is stupid and need to gojust unscrew the bolt that holds your airbox to the side of your car and rip that thing out..takes like 10 min

Its a snorkle shaped part of the stock intake hose. It is mounted in the passenger side fender. It quiets the air flowing into the intake. Everyone takes this off to gain a few horses and to improve the sound under the hood. If you still have one, take it off. Or get a cold air intake system and remove the entire stock hose/air cleaner assembly.

If it were my car I would not remove it. It's there for a reason, and someone earlier stated that it helps regulate airflow.

All it does is quiet the engine bay/noise! That is why its called an air silencer lol! Not an air 'regulator'
