You should get the money back for the wires and order some paint.

The Factory coils are actually very good and have a Multiple Spark Discharge just like the MSD pieces. They do make a slightly larger spark then stock ones over 3000 rpmbut that does nothing really for a NA motor, good luck.

ORIGINAL: 2000GT4.6

Not only that, but if there wasn't anything wrong with the orignal coil packs it was a total waste. Aftermarket coil packs on a stock car do nothing. Hell, I haven't seen to many people in teh 600+ range using anything but stock packs.

Its not like the 1970s when you could get x10 the voltage with aftermarket stuff compared to stock stuff. Hell, our stock voltage systems put out more fire than most of the aftermarket stuff of the 80s and 90s.
It's great to hear a voice of reason on this topic.I've been telling people for years now that they are throwing their money away upgrading ignition components on almost any car built since 1990--ionizing the plug gap and making a spark takes "X" amount of voltage (usually 30kV to 35kV,even at higher speeds and compressions), having more than 40kV to 45kV (the stock coils can probably pump 80kV+ into an open circuit) available won't hurt anything but it won't help anything either. It's all about dwell time and with COP systems there's all kinds of time available for that coil to saturate...
