I have 2002 GT stock 17 inch rims on my 98 mustang gt. Wat is the biggest and widest tire i can put on these for the back.Thanks....

Stock 2002 GT wheels should be 17" and max width is 275 to fit I believe.

The stock GT rims should be 17s.

On the 17s, the largest you want to go is a 275/40/R17.

with 275/40/R17 tires will there be any rubbing? Wat size you recommend for the front?

With the 17 inch rims go with a 245/40/R17 on the front and a 275/40/R17 on the back.

cant u go 275 allround on the stock 17's? we have pretty big whell wells, shouldn't b a problem, but no more than 275 tho.

The wheel well isnt your problem Mustangs can easily fit 315s.. Its the rim width thats the problem.

And why would you want wide tires up front?

I have a 275 up front now to fit the new 9 inch bullitt rims, but I would not want it on a stock rim. With a regular non drag radial tire on the front IMO it would have too much buldge. Plus, it just wouldn't look right.

I did not notice any signficant gain in handling with the 275s up front. I kinda wish I could have gone with a 245 but the new rims are too wide.
