Any 4.6 guys who can help me?
 

My son bought a 2000 GT with many modifications after he finished boot camp. In less than a week he was shipped out and left the car with me. He can not afford the payments or the insurance and has asked me to fix some small things and sell it for him. No idea when he will be back.

I am an old, old school GM guy. I work on and build 60's and 70's muscle cars, so I have no clue when it comes to anything about new cars or Fords for that matter. What you guys do with computers, fuel injection and suspension tricks amazes me.

I am looking for some advise and info on this car. It has so many upgrades like full headers, race clutch, short throw shifter, sub-frame connectors, true dual exhaust with X pipe and cut outs, BBK intake, Trick Flow plenum, etc. I don't know what is stock and what is aftermarket. For example, did the car come with a 1/2" fuel line? The gear is either 3:73 or 3:90. What was stock? The upper control arms are tubular. Are they stock?

Mostly I need help determing what the car is worth and what is the best way to go about selling it. I don't know much about the car as my son only drove it here a couple days before he shipped and it has sat on my driveway since. I have done a few little things to it to get it ready to sell like replace the EGR tube that was cracked and replaced the intake manifold with one with an aluminum water jacket.

Can someone here who is knowlegable about this stuff help me out? I would like to send pictures to someone so you can tell me whatis what.

P.S. Maybe someday we'll meet at a track in Florida and we can grudge race. I have a '72 Oldsmobile 442 that I am building. When it is finished it will have just over 400 hp at the wheels and hopefully over 500 lbs of torque. You can have bragging rights on how you smoked an old fart at the track. Thanks again.

the controle arms arnt stock and the gears arnt either...they come with 3.27s stock...not sure about the fuel line...but sounds like a nice car...dont know how much you shoudl sell it for...depends on how many miles it has on it really..but ebay works good and auto trader...theres a section on this forum where you can post cars for sale also...good luck

I have no idea if any work has been done to the engine, but someone seems to have put a lot of effort and money into this car. I have no idea how they managed to get the headers installed. It is a very tight fit.

My son was told the car has a chip.

It's really hard to see from the pics posted.. I noticed the 3 bolt caster camber plates, and the intake...

If you can, can you also post a sound clip? Doesn't really look to modified from the pictures that I was able to tell... It's probably a Intake, exhaust, geared GT... You can tell if it's chipped or had it tuned using a tuner, by pulling off the passenger side side panel (underneath the dash) that's where the cpu is... if it has a chip it'd be plugged into the computer... if not, then it had a tuner, that your son probably didn't get with the car... if you want i'd be willing like the guy above me to come take a listen/look at it, see if there's anything I can eyeball...

Car has some descent mods unfortunately they will not appreciate the price any.
