What exactly does a venom 400 do for the mustang..... these are the mods that i have waiting to be isntalled and im either stopping now or getting this venom 400 as well.


-Tunable induction CAI W/ MAM

-steeda timing adjuster and underdrive pulleys

-pypes high flow catted x pipe

would the venom 400 be worth it, how much do they even cost, are there any other chips that will increase power that arent expensive... let me know , thanks

Venom 400 = Piece of crap

The venom 400 is a fuzzy logic box that changes the voltage signal from you TPS to make the car think you have the throttle open more than you do, hence dumping more fuel into the car at less throttle position. This makes the car run rich at low RPM's does nothing on the high end, and the car will bog terribly under 2500rpm.

You are better off to get a custom tuned chip or a programmer. This will allow you to control all sorts of stuff like timing, fuel, auto line pressure, and other things. You can find them for under 400 on EBay.

Its not totally a piece of cr#p. It injects more fuel by fooling the computer that the air is cooler than it really is. I notice that it works and i never had any problem with mine, however, i do think it is way over priced and their are so many other modds that u could do for $400 that will give u more HP. Wait off on it and get the X pipe installed and all your bolt on's then think about getting the Venom.

I had one in my honda and I ended up just leaving it off because the car responded so horribly. You are better off to drop the 400on a predator if that is the going price for a venom. The predator will allow you to do so much more, like advance the timing which the car will like alot more than just dumping more fuel.

with the set up i have listed at the top of this thread... will i get better gains with a predator or would i be better off spending that cash on a TB and plenum?

sounds like the various resistor mods that sell on ebay for 50 bucks, or the resistor that you can buy at radio shack for 30 cents.

It does other things as well. it makes your shifts smoother and shifts at a higher RPM for automatic cars etc. I can definately see the HP difference, but not a $400 difference in HP. Like I said way over priced.
