Default Question about supercharging

I'm about to buy a NOVI 1000 supercharger from someone. I was told that I would need either an SCT chip or a handheld tuner along with a good dyno tune. Is all that neccessary or would a good dyno tune be good enough? I'm new to superchargers so i really don't know what the difference would be. I would think a dyno tune would take care of everything a hand held tuner would.I alwaysthought you could just slap on the supercharger, get a dyno tune and call it a day.

a dyno tune is all you need to make the car run good, butyou will need the handheld tuner for the shop thats gonna tune your car.

okay, now that kinda confuses me a bit. so you're saying in order to do the dyno tune that they must have a hand held tuner to do it? So then a handheld tuner IS a must, along with a dyno tune?? i'm just trying to spend the least amount of money (right now) and have my car running good.

they have to be able to save the tune to something.

basically its like this. whenever you use a handheld tuner, you tweak your settings, and all that stuff right. then you save it, and it keeps your stock settings saved in the tuner as well, just in case you needed the car back stock. the dyno tune will do the same thing except hes using a dyno to tweak the settings, and then saving it into your tuner. thats all. if you ever needed to get rid of the blower or something of that nature, you would just return it to stock.

you dont HAVE to have your own tuner...it depends on the place you take it too. Most places will just charge you a little more if they have to use their own programmer.
