Ok, I'm sure this has probably been posted, but the scenario is a little different. To start, I have a 02 GT w/ 14000 miles. The previous owner literally never drove it and it just sat around. If I leave my car for over and hour, sometimes - and only sometimes - the car will turn over for a while (3-4s) before starting. It has always started though. I'm wondering if because it sat around for a long time maybe a fuel pump is bad? Sometimes the car idles rough too as though trying not to die.

I know you probably checked, but you could need a new battery. As far as it trying to die, could be an IAC valve.

could be the fuel pumpor aclog in the fuel delivery

I'd change the fuel filter, they do get gummed up from just sitting and its the cheapest thing to do, good luck.
