Nah, it's not the Steeda Tri-X. That puppy is as tight as a fiddle string on my Mach. You really ought to get the upgrade on that tranny. You won't believe the difference.
how do I go about getting the trans upgrade?

Drop by your Ford dealer, and see if you are qualified.

They definately are. If I were worried about the noise then I wouldn't be driving a mustang.

Yep, with the tranny upgrade. the beefed up clutch and the Steeda Tri-X, my Mach shifts just perfectly. But, without those upgrades, you will hit a wall when trying to shift from 2nd to 3rd. I have no tranny noise even at 5k RPM in 4th or 5th. At 5K in 5th, I need a REAL GOOD radar detector. Now, with the beefed up clutch, you are going to have to learn how to drive a standard tranny all over again. It is sensitive, and in tight spots, you will cuss it. Have any of you guys with tranny noise tried synthetic tranny oil? I have Redline engine oil in my Mach, along with their filter, but haven't replaced the factory tranny oil yet. Maybe that is the answer to the noise?
