I know its a 5.0 and all, Just wonderin. Ive posted pics of his car in here, and talked about racing him before.

Hey, my friend has a 94 0r 95 cobra he bought of off some kid, HOW can i tell its a Cobra and not a Clone?? (he hass diff intake Manifold, Diff Seats, Stripped Badges. he has the Cobra Skirts and Stuff.........

What Gears do they come with stock??
Whats the Redline?
Did they come with Foglights?
whats do the Valve Covers look like?

if you want to tell its a cobra...ask for the certificate, check the VIN, or open the engine and see if the COBRA is on the plenum or whatever that part is on the engine ( the gold thing lol )

If its anything like the 4.6 cobra's, it should have an SVT badge on the passenger side valve cover with some signatures on it... if not, then look for emblems on the car. They came with 3.27 gears like the rest of the gt's, white face gauges, bumpers, badges, hood, and the wheels were different. The steering wheel said cobra as well but the dash still had mustang on it....

Other than that... pull the vin on the car. You can find out with that.

Thnx, But i did get ALOTTA Replys from the 5.0 Section.... ANd i said it could be a Clone, so that takes out the Bumpers Badges, Hood and Wheels........and Gadges, i thoguht they where 3.08 in the old cobras. Not sure about the Valve Cover. INtake Manifold is Aftermarket so i dunno about that Eaither, Steering WHeel is Aftermarket, Aswell as Seats.

On the 5.0's its a lot easier to make a clone than it is on the 4.6. The entire motor setup on the 4.6 looks different between a 4v and a 2v..
Only thing I can tell ya is to run his vin.. thats the only way to know for sure.

Dont they have the intake manifold that says "cobra" and GT 40 heads?

better hit up the 5 0 section for this.. those guys would jump on it just likethe 4.6 section would when asked "whats a 03 04 cobra"

There are 2 body items that most people don't clone, and that is the bumper has MUSTANG embossed in it (like the V6s) and the trunk lid does not have the 3rd brake light in it - it's on the wing. Someone would have to fill in the brake light hole to complete the look. I had a '94 GT that I was converting to a Cobra R clone. I had an original Cobra wing and trunk lid ready to go before I sold the car.
Only the '95 Cobras had the SVT badge on the trunk. Another thing hard to clone are the clear Cobra-specific headlights. There are aftermarket knock-offs, but they won't say FORD on them.
