Default shorty antenna

What is a good14" antennathat will get good reception? I want to get a black one for my car. The stock one is 32" high and looks like **** to me. Or could I just cut mine down and paint it? Will it still work ok?

I chopped mine off at the roofline level with a cutoff wheel. Looks fine, works fine, shorty for free FTW

I have the 14" from AmericanMuscle and it works fine. It's a good medium because it looks stock and not really small like the 8".

Clearance bin at Pepboys for $3. Works great, just as good as the stock, looks much better than stock.

Thanks for the feedback guys. Well I just made my stock antenna into a shorty just to see how it would turn out. Tomorrow will be the test on my way to work to see how the reception is. It was easy but if any of you try it, your gonna have to grind the antenna down a little to get the ball back on where you cut it. It is a little thicker in the middle where I cut vs. the top.

I got a 14 inch, reception isnt bad, but its not as good as the 32inch tower our stangs come with. I got the 14 cuz it lines up with the roof line real nice.
