UPDATE: I have now cleaned the MAF. The car seems to not be any better...perhaps worse.

Now if you rev the car up to 3k, and let COMPLETELY off the throttle, it takes about 10 secs to idle back down. Even at that, it idles at about 900 constantly.

If you drive the car, and shift up through 3rd gear, you can COMPLETELY let off the throttle and cruise at about 37 mph for miles and miles and miles. I can also do this in any gear but that was just an example.

What do you all think could be the problem? I am thinking TPS.

Let me know what you guys think.
Wow that is the exact thing happening to me. I got 112 miles on a full tank of gas. My idle hangs around 3k then drops to 2k and stays there. I can also let off the gas in 1st-3rd and idle. I cruise threw neighborhoods in 3rd gear doing 35mph without having to give it gas. I am thinking it is either my TPS or MAF. If you fix your problem PM me and let me know what it was and if I fix mine I will let you know.

Also someone said something about gas leaks. My friend was getting 8 mpg in his Stang cause he had a fuel leak and he had to have less then a half tank in his car in order for the fuel not to leak out til he got it fixed.

I dont think we have a fuel leak. I have never smelled gas, ever.

I just bought a new FMS TPS BRAND NEW for $15+$5.50 for shipping on ebay.

I am going to start there and then get the MAF if the TPS doesnt fix it.

If you guys have thoughts, let me know.

Ok let me know if the TPS solves your problem since I have samething. I was gonna drive my car around tonight for like 30-50 miles and see what was up with it. If it is still fugging up I am gonna get a new TPS tomorrow. If you can PM and let me know if that fixes the problem that would be awesome.

You got the TPS for 15 bucks? Wow I thougth they were around 80.

Sweet thanks. I hope it is just my TPS since MAFs cost around 200 bucks.

Does anyone know if an MAF from NAPA will be a good one? I just want a stock replacement and I can get one there relatively cheaply ($135).

Don't know. I was gonna get one from Ford and they said they need my calibration code off the door in order to get the right MAF for my car. I was confused so I told him I would bring my car down.
