Is the 96-98 t-45the same tranny as the 99 t-45.Mine is getting really bad and my freind has at-45 from a96-98.I was going to buy his to get me by untill i can afford a tko and his is brand new.His motor took a crap on him lol.

I think that the T-45 in the New Edges use an electrical spped sensor where as the T-45 in the '96-'98s use a mechanical speed sensor on the tailshaft. You need to just switch those and you'll be set. They bolt right up with no problems.

That what i thought but do u have to cut or splice anything to get it to fit

As far as electrical connections and all of that, I'm not sure. I've swapped a '99 T-45 into a '97 GT. I just took all of the wiring off and used the old speed sensor. I guess it's easy enough. Do a search and see if anyone has done the swap before.

thanks for the help i mite just c what i can fine.This isthe first time that im really thinking about it because i want to go to the track but dont know thatmy tranny will hold up at the track.

try to get a 3650. they are a lot better. the t45 in the 99 is slightly stronger since its a tremec t45 but it still sux horribly. but they bolt up fine. nothing but changin the speed and possibly the reverse light

sorryguys! man this sucks my freind just sold his 2 days ago.I just talk to him a hour ago and a guy gave him cash for it.Now i have to look somewhere else.I mite try to take it easy on mine a save for a tko now.I just dont know how long mine is going to last but thanks for the help guys
