What does a bad wheel bearing sound like ?
i have a sound coming from the passenger side front tire (98 Cobra )....it kinda sounds like a mudgrip tire.....i thought wheel bearings made a squeeling like noise or something if they was going bad...drives perfect...i dunno...could it be tire noise ?...i have 18" nitto 555's on it.....the toe end was out a little and it chewed on the outside of the tire a little bit so i didnt know if it could be tire noise or wheel bearing or what....any suggestions ?

ya bad bearings sound like an agressive snow tire. the sound should change as you steer left and right. to check for play jack it up and drab the tire at 12 and 6 and move it back and forth

I have heard a few but never on a Mustang. It sounds like swirrling metal, kinda like a rubbing brake. A girl I knew heard that a few days ago right before her tire fell off on I95. You can replace your own bearings or go to a shop. It shouldn't be that much.
