RE: car keeps shuttin off
Idle sounds low, does it idle rough? May be the IAC (idle air control) is giving you trouble. Check that the thicker tube coming from your inlet pipe is connected to the plenum (outlined below)..can also check to see if the IAC sensor is working correctly, it is the black plastic casing mounted to the side of the throttle body, it's circled below.

RE: car keeps shuttin off
If you get a repair book on the car, from like autozone or somewhere, they go into it in detail. I'll try to type it all in later if you want, you'll need a multi-meter though, you'll have to read voltage values to see if the IAC is functioning properly. The IAC is basically bypasses the throttle body. When the car is idling, it allows a regulated amount of air into the plenum directly, not going through the TB. So if the IAC malfunctions and isn't allowing the correct air flow to bypass the TB, it will through off you idle. In your case, it sounds as though the IAC isn't working at all, not allowing any air to bypass and choking your idle to where the car just dies...I'm assuming the car runs good otherwise? Just shuts off when you want it to idle? Do you get a check engine light now that wasn't on before the problem? I'll try to type all that testing info in later, or like I said, grab yourself a book for a few bucks, always good to have around. Hopefully it's just that IAC sensor giving you trouble, because they're cheap and easy to install.
