so the other day i went to leave work and my car would not start, the theft light was flashing and all it did was turn over and would start, its a 2001 gt i had a locksmith come to try and reprogram my key since i only have one and his computer sayed there was a something else wrong but would say, any have this problem and get it fixed? id love to know before i have to tow it to ford and get my pockets owned....

first off in order to progam a PATS key you must have 2 keys min. The first step after security access is to erase all known keys in order to program new keys. So if he already tried to progtram it you'll need anther key to get any further.
If he didn't try programing first check the back of the key. There will be a retangular plug. Thats the PATS transmitter. If theres a hole in the back of your key the transmitter fell out. If the transmitter is there check
the transiever connector. White connector attached to steering column its easy to access by removing the knee plate sometimes a wire pulls out or brakes at this connector.
also check and make sure that you check engine light comes on with the key on. If is dosn't your pcm is not powering up. check fuses, grounds, and relays.

ok thanks, this guy was a dumbass and charged me $100 to do nothing, i will check the connections and take it to ford if nothing else to have it reprogramed, and then i will get my $100 back
