First: An intercooler (unless you are planning water/meth injection) is more of a SAFETY item, not a power item. If you want to preserve the life of your shortblock (I assume you do) you'll definitely want one. A benefit of it though, is that it will add power. Probably about 20% extra (add the 20% to what it's already adding... so if the blower adds 100 HP, add an intercooler and it'll be 120 hp).

The intercooler will make the install more complex (will need the intercooler pump and coolant tank, and some other little extras) but you can't easily just "add an intercooler" later... You would need a different intake manifold, and the stuff I just listed... definitely going to be expensive. If you're going to get it, get it from the start, otherwise use meth injection or nitrous.

Edit: Off topic, but by the way Cliff, made up a set of MIL's following your instructions (used 1/4 watt resistors) and all is well so far! A small hesitation has developed while "cold" (above C)and WOT... goes away once warm... that could be because I should probably clean my MAF and replace the fuel filter though. [8D]

yea when it comes to those things i wouldnt get cheap on man. i mean if it stays below 3 grand then jump on it but no more then 3. if ur gonna do it, do it right the first time.
