Default IAC always acting up

Hey guys,
How ofter are you guys having to mess with your IAC? I'm having to pull mine and clean it every other oil change if not more. I just bought a new one last summer. Anything I can do to remedy this situation?

Justin

Why, what problems are you correcting when doing this? My '03 GT has 45k miles and the only times the IAC has been off is once when I added a restrictor, and again when I changed the plenum--I didn't clean it either time...

Get some throttle body cleaner and clean the butterfly valve and scrub the carbon out of your throttle body untill you cant see and carbon anymore and it will run like a dream.

Here is the problem that you are having and luckily the Ford dealership will correct this for you.

99-00 Mustangs had a faulty passenger side oil baffle allowing large amounts of oil to get into the intake system and foul such things as IAC, spark plugs and cake up the intake itself as well as the valves. In some extreem cases this has caused the failure of the engine.

Read this for a DIY fix or the OASIS info you need to bring to ford.

I learned this little tid bit when I bought a 2000 3.8L engine for a swapout into my wifes 96'
I was curious as to why there were such large amounts of oil in the intake and why the plugs were so nasty.

Unfortinatly I can not take part of the Ford replacment program because I did not buy the whole car, I have to replace the valve cover myself or install an oil serator.

I just notticed that your are a GT..... Its probably still your PVC valve but check through the system to see where its coming from.

The 03/04 Mach1 had a similar problem that was not severe enough to make an OASIS report about. Call a dealership and ask them about your car, you will need your VIN handy.
