can't hurt your car by letting it run, thats what they make 'em for! only waste some gas...The colder it is, the longer it should warm up.

These engines don't have to be hot to drive without damage. Just start it, let it idle while you are putting on your seatbelt, then drive it normally.

ya letting ur car idle for a while would never hurt but rolling ur car too soon can. Just take it easy on her until the temp gauge is at the center

I HATE the cold my stang is off the Insurance and I cant have anymore fun [:@][:'(] I wish i lived in S. FL.

i dont want to burst anyones bubble but i had an awsome autos instructor, dude had 50 years experience. he told me never let a car "warm up" for a long time, that it actualy can be bad (he didnt go into details) but like most of you said start it, put your seatbelt on and keeps the rpm's under 2500. and winter cars no fun. i paid $100 for an 88 jeep cherokee that runs amazing. i sank that ****er in 3ft of mud! and it still runs. best winter car ever!

I think that is only for older cars that over heat. U know like siting in traffic for a while. But on a cold morning I dont think their is nothing wrong with letting it warm up to normal running temp. if u run a car hard and its cold u cold damage it cuz all the fluids need to warm up, such as the oil, tranny fluid, etc. if u dont get them warm your car will be damaged. Basically it comes down to that ur car runs better warmed up. thats why u never race someone within a few minutes of driving esp. of a cold day.

I generally turn the car on and let it warm up while i scrape the windows, clean off the hood, headlights, tailights... etc. The defroster in my stang is a BEAST... so usually it warms up quick and melts the snow right off. Usually by the time I get done scraping/cleaning snow off, it's warm enough to go.
