Are the Borla Stingers volume easy to manage?
Are they completely loud all the time, or can I be pretty quiet if I want to be keeping the rpm's down? They would be used w/ the stock mid pipe and/or any aftermarket midpipe would be catted.

It's kind of difficult for me to say since I am running them with an o/r H pipe, however, from my experiances with them,
IF you are willing to keep it below 2K, then you can get around w/o attracting too much attention.
If you cruise right around 1900-2K though, or anywhere near 2500 rpms, youre gonna be loud pretty much all the time, in the car and out.
Like I said, I can't guarantee anything though as I don't have any experiance with them while paired with a catted or stock H pipe.

I can usually cruise on the highway and through town at about 1600 rpm and up to 2000 if I want. At 60 I have it in 5th on stock gears so its only pulling about 1600 rpm's and through town which is 35 mph if I have it in 3rd its at 2000-2200 or if I'm in 4th its at about 1600. One reason I would stay catted with this cb is because it would help keep it down a bit.

It should be managable with the stock mid pipe. Like 72MachOne99GTsaid, they can somewhat be managed with a o/r pipe so you should be able to manage with the stock one.

My mid pipe and headers are still stock. It's completely fine. You won't be dissapointed. The only comment given to me was after my inspection. The guy said it was ALMOST too loud. I laughed it off. I dont like people telling me what I can or cant do with MY car.
I really don't know what the problem is...stock harley davidson's are much louder and no one gives them a second thought.

If I got any midpipe in the future the best one I've heard with it, IMO, is the MRT catted H.....sounds incredible.

By the way it should sound alot cleaner than your Flowmasters, even with stock midpipe. Chambered mufflers tend to drone alot because the sound waves get trapped in the baffles and causes that resonance. No such problem with a straight through design like Magnapacks or Stingers. The nice thing about your new exhaust will be it will only be loud when you WANT it to be (WOT, or heavy throttle).

I know what your saying with the machine gun sound, its ok, doesn't bother me too much I guess. I love the sound of chambered mufflers but I would like to try a straight through design for a change and I really like the stingers. Why does the x pipe sound better? IfI had a choice between flowmaster and Mac, I would now choose Mac even though two pretty much sound the same. Some of the meanest cars I've heard so far has been the 03-04 Cobra with a Mac catback, KB s/c, and some form of o/r midpipe. Obviously my car will never sound anything like that. So far the type of exhaust I want has been the hardest and most time consuming decision. It sucks because there are no other cars in my area for me to hear so I'm stuck with the limitations of quality of sound from the speakers in my laptop and sound clips.
