I had 5% on the back window of my old Grand Prix and didn't like it. It was too hard to back up at night. I had to back out of my friend's camp driveway with the door open so I could lean out and see. As for the dots, Llumar (I think its spelled right) is one of the best companies that makes window tint and I think it is them who makes a special adhesive that is made for tint that helps the tint stick over the dots. I had a friend that tinted windows and we tried it on my car and worked.

My tint is convering the dot matrix just fine without any bubbles. They should easily be able to do it.

But what the tint shop did tell me about the matrix was that it was going to be a little lighter and white where the matrix is. Kind of like snake skin. And I've seen it before so I know what it looks like. It can look bad sometimes, but doesn't look so bad on mine. And I have %20 tint.

I don't see how that could form bubbles.

I think its how much they take their time with prepping the glass and using the heat gun right. My friend knew how to one piece front/back windows and when we put 45% on the windshield of my grand prix, which has dot matrix around all of the edges, everything stuck and it was flawless. We just took our time with squeegying and heating the tint and it worked perfectly.

You can cut off the film that is bubbling on the dots and replace that small piece with black vinyl that is used in making signs/lettering. You can buy a piece at any sign company.

I have seen that done once and you cannot notice it on the outside.

i'm surprised it took that long for someone to mention the vinyl. my car's rear window looks just like that black one above.

i also went with 20% on rear and 1/4 windows. i'm going to go back for 35% on the front sides this summer. you can put a strip of black vinyl over the dot matrix, then tint up TO it. i wish i did that. it still kinda bothers me, but not that much.

Just scrape it down witha brillo pad or whatever those wire-mesh pads are called. To where it will grind it down a little, just enough to not have bubbles.
