The stupidest thing ever!
So when I installed my LTs and new springs I hung my brake calipers from a hanger through the strut tower... it worked great and kept them out of the way for the install. So after everything was done I was driving around and kept hearing a rattling noise that got worse as I turned, went over bumps or hit about 2500 RPMs. What does my mind go to... An exhaust leak on my headers (it sounded like it was coming from that area. I was pissed and was not going to be happy to fix it. So walking out of the store today I notice white behind my tires. I realized that the hangers I used were still attached to the strut tower!!! I am a ****ing idiot! So I took them off and needless to say the rattling noise is gone and my exhaust sounds fine!!! YAY!! still a moron but a much happier one!! just thought I would share my stupidity with ya'll.... Oh and Ford didn't notice them during my allignment, says alot about Ford!

Ford mechanics do everything by the book. They have a flowchart for everything. Like, it'll say to check something, and then say something like "If this is like that, go to step A. If this is some other way, go to step B." You don't really need much mechanical training if you can work a wrench.

I did worse - I refilled the oil in my 92 t-bird after a oil change, checked the stick, and then I went for a short test drive. I noticed my car didn't have any power to it during my ride around the block. Then it clicked - I didn't put the oil cap back on. I hurried up and pulled over. Thank goodness it was still under the hood.... hehehe

haha yea same thing happened to my friend... but he didn't remember that he left it off and his honda has no power to begin with so he dind't notice it was off for like 25 miles and a days worth of driving. The only reason he found out was cuz he had to get his car inspected to get on post and he had to open the hood and the cap was off. The cap was actually still in the engine bay as well.... lucky ****
