I've recentrly bout a Nitrous Express Ford EFI Kit the one in http://www.americanmuscle.com/niexfoefikin.htmlbut in the instructions says that my engine has to be tuned to it's maximum power! do I need a special tune to run the nitrous? or what exactly does that means?

yes you need to tune it before you use the nitrous

if you put in the smallest jets you should be ok for a bit without a tune but to put in bigger jets you need a tune.

It means to get everything out of it you can you should get a tune.

You can run a wet kit without a tune, but you at least need to change the plugs to colder ones and DO NOT have the timing advanced via a tuner or timing adjuster.

IMO its pretty good insurance for that expensive engine to have a dyno tune done, along with a flip chip you can turn on when you want to spray. Its not nessicarry, but its a good way to keep the engine from going boom.

I'm not sure about the NX kits, but with ZEX (and i believe most nitrous kits) You shouldn't have to tune until you go over a 100shot. It would be nice to have your car tuned for the nitrous for the most possible power, but its not required.

lol good reply on the 11sec's thats funny yea if you use the lower jets then you dont need the tune yet,but i would say that it doesnt hurt to save up and get the tune eventually. im getting that kit too did you get the purge and bottle warmer and all that good stuff with the kit.

I think I could have done it with a "tune" but some adjustments like a 2 step orraised rev limiter so I could run on 26's. Hell I could have done it with only control arms or if I actually drove the car hard, lord knows my 1.63 60' coupled with my 116 MPH was good for a solid 11 I just never beat the car up. Oh well, she's been without a motor for 3 months now. :cry:
