Default What size wheel spacers?

I want to install some wheel spacers for my rear wheels. I know to go with the hub centric spacer, but I am curious if I am going to have to trim down my stock studs? I am thinking about 1 inch spacers on 99 gt wheels (not sure of backspacing). I would like to not have to mess with the stock studs, what sizes will alloy me to leave them alone...

pics would also be appreciated

Default RE: What size wheel spacers?

I want spacers to push my wheels out closer to being flush with my fender. I think that I will need more that 1/4" spacer to achieve this look. My guess is that I will need something closer to 1" spacer, requiring me to use a hub centric spacer with new studs. My question is when I apply the spacer to the stock hub, will the stock studs stick out farther than the face of the spacer, requiring me to trim down the stock studs so as to not interfere with how the wheel bolts to the new studs? How big of a spacer will I need for the stock studs to be fully recessed inside the spacer?

i used prokit's 1 1/4 hubcentric spacers, they go over the existing bolts. they get bolted on then you have new bolts to bolt your wheels too. safe as can be. make sure you look on the backside of your wheel to see if there are pockets for your existing bolts. most wheels have them.

So you are saying that even with the 1.25" spacers, the stock studs still came out past the face of the spacer. I won't need to cut the old studs down though if my wheels have space to accomodate for the old studs?

1 1/4" sounds like it might be a bit much on a SN95. My girl's 98GT is only about 1/2 to 3/4 from flush....
